| For a long time,
the commander of the local police, Santo Graziano,
daydreamt about an association between all the
Italian communes that recall our Martyr Saint.
And certainly the idea didn't displease our
dean and so, in the span of very few years,
a very tight collaboration between the commune
and the parish church produced a very important
show. |
| And
to call it simply a "show", one risks,
in my opinion, to belittle the intentions and
significance of the event. Because San Vito
Italia is not just an event limited to a date
and to certain motives that are, in fact, expressed
in the show. It is more, much more. In the agreement,
in the lucidity of the proposals, in the strength
of its convictions, San Vito Italia has gradually
grown until it has gone beyond the scope of
the annual meeting, of the recurrence of the
news, of the occasional nature of the meetings
and the shows, to become the National Association,
which is teeming with the life of many communities.
